Thomas White

President at Cedarville University

Thomas White is the current President at Cedarville University. Thomas has previously served as Vice President for Student Services and Communications; Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary from July 2004 to June 2013. Their duties included participating in the President’s Cabinet and helping make decisions that determine the overall direction of the institution. Thomas specifically oversaw the directors of Communications, Admissions, International Students, the Chaplain, Student Life, Financial Aid, Recreation Aerobics Center, Student Center, Housing, Dining Services, Media Services, and the Riley Conference Center and Hotel. Prior to that, they were the Director of Student Life at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary from January 2001 to December 2004. Their duties there included supervising three full-time and 20 part-time staff; submitting and following a budget for each fiscal year; implementing the rules of Citizenship and Immigration Services; managing the Ledford Student Center; overseeing Financial Aid for the institution; enforcing student discipline; producing the Student Handbook; publishing the campus newsletter; and making visits to students in emergency situations.

Thomas White started their educational career by getting a BA in English from Anderson College. Thomas then went on to get a Master of Divinity in Theology from Southeastern Seminary. Finally, they got a PhD in Systematic Theology with a focus on Theology, Ecclesiology, and Baptist Theirtory from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
