Douglas Waights has a strong background in software engineering and geophysics. Douglas started their career at Schlumberger as a Senior Geophysicist in 1999 and worked there until 2002. Douglas then joined Infoterra as a Software Engineer in 2004 and later moved to Ikon Science in 2005, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer until 2010. In 2010, Douglas joined Cegal and held various positions, including Senior Software Engineer from 2010 to 2014, Software Engineering Manager from 2014 to 2021, and currently serves as the Principal Software Engineer at the company.
Douglas Waights has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Birmingham, which was obtained from 2003 to 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geophysics and Maths from the University of Liverpool between 1996 and 1999.
