Frances Simowitz has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Frances recently served as the Owner and CEO of WEVE Acceleration (formerly NUMA New York), a company that fosters acceleration and innovation for startups. Prior to this role, they held various positions at NUMA New York, including CEO and Managing Director, Program Director, and Program Manager. Frances is also a Co-Founder of cela, an Advisory Board Member at TechDay HQ, and a Co-Organizer at HackerNest, a nonprofit organization that builds local tech communities. Frances has also worked as an Associate Director of Admissions and City Admissions Manager at Startup Institute, an Operations/Marketing Associate at Sittercity, a Director of Marketing Intern at Wifi Music School, and a Marketing Associate at Language Zen. Frances gained valuable skills and experience in the startup industry through the Technical Marketing Track at Startup Institute. Before embarking on their career in the startup world, they worked as a self-employed child care provider.
Frances Simowitz obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Westminster Choir College of Rider University from 2005 to 2012. In addition, they obtained the NY State Music Education certification from The State of New York Department of Education in April 2014, and the NJ K-12 Music Education certification from The State of New Jersey Department of Education in June 2012.
