Serena Chin

Serena Chin has more than 25 years of work experience in various roles related to internal audit, risk management, and project management. Serena'smost recent position was as the Head of Internal Audit at CelcomDigi, where they began in December 2022. Prior to that, they held the same role at Digi Telecommunications starting in November 2020.

Before their time at Digi, Serena worked as the General Manager of Internal Audit at UEM Sunrise Berhad from June 2018 to November 2020. During their tenure, they implemented an enhanced risk-based audit methodology and developed quality assurance and improvement programs.

Serena also gained experience in regulatory assessment and evaluation as an Assistant General Manager at the Securities Commission Malaysia from August 2015 to August 2017. Additionally, they have held management positions at Astro, Sunway Group, Hong Leong Assurance Berhad, and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they developed expertise in customer division management, program management, and risk-based auditing.

Throughout their career, Serena has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a knack for improving internal operations through systematic and disciplined approaches.

Serena Chin obtained a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accountancy with a minor in Taxation from RMIT University from 1993 to 1995. Prior to that, they completed their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (Canadian Pre-University) with a major in Accountancy from Metropolitan College from 1991 to 1992. Additionally, they received certifications as a Chartered Accountant from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants in 1999 and as a Certified Practising Accountant from CPA Australia in June 1999. Serena also obtained a certification in "Selling into Industries: Telecommunications" from LinkedIn in 2020.
