Beatriz Santos

Beatriz Santos is a skilled Data Scientist at Celfocus since September 2021, focusing on the development and deployment of AI models. Prior to this, Beatriz served as a Data Engineer on a Digital Transformation project for a Tier 1 Telecommunication company utilizing SAFe methodologies. Beatriz also held leadership positions in IEEE UC Women in Engineering, contributing as Vice Chair to organizational management, project development, and fostering relationships with external entities. Additional involvement includes collaboration with the IEEE UC Student Branch and IEEE EMBS UC, engaging in regulatory development and internship initiatives. Beatriz's academic background includes an Integrated MSc in Biomedical Engineering - Clinical Informatics and Bioinformatics from Universidade de Coimbra, alongside training in Computational Biology and studies at KU Leuven. A notable summer internship at Universidade de Coimbra involved research on automatic detection and classification of glaucoma disease through advanced imaging techniques.
