Heino Sommer is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the field of materials development, particularly for energy storage solutions. Since August 2021, Heino serves as CTO and Director of Development at CELLFORCE GROUP. Prior to this role, Heino was a Principal Scientist at BASF from January 2011 to August 2021, focusing on high Ni and Mn-rich cathode materials, and managed the BELLA joint laboratory, overseeing research on Li-S and Si-based anodes. Earlier positions include Lab Manager and Scientific Researcher at Paul Scherrer Institut PSI and Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, where Heino developed various anode materials and overlithiated NCMs. Heino holds a PhD from Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, with research on bismuth-chalcogenite-transition metal clusters.
