Daniel Ong has a strong background in sales and account management. Daniel is currently working as a Senior Sales Executive at CELLINK, starting in February 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Account Manager from December 2018 to February 2022. Before that, they were with John Morris Group for five years from 2013 to 2018, where they served as a Territory Sales Manager. In this role, they were responsible for promoting and selling JMG products, managing key accounts, and expanding the business within the mining, medical research, pharmaceutical, wastewater, and oil and gas industries. Notable clients they worked with include Woodside Energy, Chevron, WaterCorp, UWA, Australian Red Cross, PathWest, and Clinipath. Daniel's earlier experience includes working as a Laboratory Manager/Research Associate at Edith Cowan University from 2007 to 2013. In this role, they conducted research on the role of reproductive hormones in Alzheimer's disease and was involved in purchasing laboratory consumables, collaborating with investigators, and monitoring research facilities.
Daniel Ong has a diverse education history. Daniel started their education at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, where they obtained a Diploma in Biotechnology from 1997 to 2001. Following that, they attended Murdoch University from 2005 to 2006, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology. In the same period, they also enrolled at The University of Western Australia, specializing in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology for a brief time in 2006. Daniel then shifted their focus to Pharmacology at The University of Western Australia and completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in that field in 2007.
In addition to their formal education, Daniel Ong has acquired additional certifications. In January 2019, they completed a course on "Customer Service: Handling Abusive Customers" and "Working with Difficult People" at Lynda.com.
