Mike Brandt has extensive work experience in various roles within the engineering and technology industry. Mike started their career at P&H Mining Equipment, where they served as an Applications Engineer and later as a Product Engineer, overseeing the development and launch of new products. During their time at P&H Mining Equipment, Mike also conducted market research, sales forecasting, and managed customer agreements.
After P&H Mining Equipment, Mike joined Bucyrus International as a Technical Product Manager. In this role, they directed the development of a confidential new machine and integrated the Terex Hydraulic Excavator product line into Bucyrus.
Mike later joined Caterpillar Inc., where they held multiple roles. As a Product Development Manager, they led cross-functional teams and managed a budget to develop semi-autonomous control systems for mining shovels. Mike also implemented machine-level electrical component redesigns and developed new common motors, resulting in significant cost savings and inventory reduction.
At Caterpillar Inc., Mike also served as a 6 Sigma Black Belt - NPI Lead, leading teams in New Product Introduction projects, coaching team members, and defining critical customer and business requirements.
Following their tenure at Caterpillar Inc., Mike worked at Alevo as a Product Director, where they defined and drove the product commercialization process for energy storage systems.
Mike then co-founded Claimkey, LLC before becoming the Chief Executive Officer at Ardent Edge, where they founded the company and drove revolutionary power conversion technology for battery energy storage systems, creating a $2B opportunity in the storage market and growing clean energy consulting revenue to $500k.
Currently, Mike serves as the Chief Operating Officer at NDSL, where they lead all aspects of Order Processing, Order Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Installations, Facilities, and New Product Implementation. In this role, they have implemented new supply chain and inventory strategies, simplified forecasting, and improved margins.
