Mumtaz Ahmad

Mumtaz Ahmad has extensive work experience in the maritime industry, with a focus on engineering. Mumtaz started their career as a Junior Engineer at Multi Marine Pvt. Ltd in 1996, where they were responsible for making drawings and attending control room calls. Mumtaz then joined PNSC as a Trainee Engineer in 1997 and later worked as a 4th Engineer, handling fuel and lube oil.

In 2004, Mumtaz became a 3rd Engineer at NOMIS SHIPPING ABREDEEN, where they served as an independent watch keeper for the engine room. Mumtaz then joined Wightlink in 2006 as a 2nd Engineer, responsible for the safe running and maintenance of machinery on board.

From 2007 to 2014, Mumtaz worked at P&O Ferries as a 2nd/3rd Engineer, supervising other engineers and crew members, maintaining records, and acting as a liaison between the captain and shore personnel. Mumtaz joined CEMEX UK in 2015 as a Chief Engineer, overseeing engineering operations. Mumtaz currently holds the position of Chief Engineer at DEME Group since 2021.

Mumtaz Ahmad has a diverse education history spanning several years. In 1989, they enrolled in Govt college sargodha and completed a pre-engineering program, earning their Fsc degree in 1991. Later, they pursued further studies at PMA Karachi, where they completed a Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies in 1994. Additionally, they attended South Tyneside College in South Shields, UK. Between 2002 and 2004, they obtained a Certificate of Competency Class-2 (motor ship only) in Marine Engineering. Finally, they completed their education at the same college, obtaining a Certificate of Competency Class-1 (motor ship only) in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering in 2012.
