Benoni Okwenje

Benoni Okwenje is an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial markets and trading. Currently serving as the General Manager of the Financial Markets Department at Centenary Bank since February 2020, Benoni leads the bank's financial markets operations and is a member of the Executive Committee. Prior to this role, Benoni spent over eleven years at Stanbic Bank Uganda as a Fixed Income Trader, where responsibilities included managing trading books and overseeing treasury transactions. Earlier experience includes positions at the Bank of Uganda, where Benoni executed market operations and contributed to financial strategies, as well as roles at NYLIFE Securities and the Bank of New York. Benoni holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from NYU Stern School of Business.
