Jay Butterman

Jay Butterman has an extensive background in behavioral health, serving most recently as the Behavioral Health Chief Medical Officer at Centene Corporation from June 2016 to August 2023. In this role, Jay oversaw medical management and quality improvement initiatives within Envolve People Care, including managing a team of Medical Directors and Peer Reviewers. Prior experience includes holding senior leadership positions such as Vice President and Senior Medical Director at Envolve People Care, where responsibilities spanned medical direction and utilization management oversight. Since November 1993, Jay has also maintained a private practice as a psychiatrist. Jay holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Binghamton University.
