Justin Stubstad, PharmD, JD has a diverse background in the healthcare and legal fields. Justin started their career as a Complex Manager at Drake University from 2004 to 2008. Justin then worked as a Pharmacy Intern at Ward Eastside Pharmacy from 2007 to 2008. In 2009, they served as a Pharmacist at Minne Tohe Health Center for a brief period. From 2010 to 2010, they worked as a Legal Intern at the North Dakota State Board of Pharmacy. In 2011, they gained experience as an Enterprise Content Management Intern at The Doe Run Company.
In 2012, Justin took on roles at both the US Department of Health and Human Services as a Law Clerk from January to May, and the State of Missouri as Legal Counsel for MO HealthNet Division from December 2012 to October 2013. Justin then became the Special Counsel for the Department of Social Services in Missouri from October 2013 to February 2015, where they focused on ACA implementation, compliance, and Medicaid reform models.
Justin's career took a turn towards compliance and oversight when they joined Centene Corporation in 2015. Justin initially worked as a Compliance Analyst, providing oversight to Centene's Specialty Companies' Compliance departments. Justin advised and consulted on various compliance requirements and developed training modules and assessments. From April 2016 to March 2019, they served as the Director of Compliance for Envolve Pharmacy Solutions, overseeing regulatory compliance, privacy, and internal audit. Justin also managed a team and directed Enterprise Risk Management reporting, internal SOX controls, and external SOX audits.
From March to August 2019, Justin was promoted to Senior Director of Compliance, where they continued their work in regulatory compliance, privacy, and internal audit. Justin'sresponsibilities expanded to include leading investigations into noncompliant activities and auditing for noncompliance and business inefficiencies. Finally, they currently hold the position of Vice President of Compliance and Compliance Officer for Envolve Pharmacy Solutions at Centene Corporation, where they continue to oversee compliance efforts for the Pharmacy Benefit Management and Specialty/Mail-order Pharmacy groups.
Justin Stubstad, PharmD, JD attended Drake University from 2003 to 2009, where they obtained their Pharm.D. degree in Pharmacy. Following that, they pursued higher education at Saint Louis University School of Law from 2009 to 2012 and earned their JD degree with a Certificate in Healthcare Law. In September 2012, they became an Attorney after passing the Missouri Board of Legal Examiners. Moreover, they obtained their license as a Pharmacist in Missouri in January 2010 from the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy. Lastly, in June 2009, they acquired their license as a Pharmacist in North Dakota from the North Dakota State Board of Pharmacy.
