Rasheed Malik

Senior Director, Early Childhood Policy at Center for American Progress

Rasheed Malik has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013. Rasheed began as a Research Assistant at Baruch College, City University of New York. In 2013, they joined The Waterfront Alliance as Government Affairs & Communications Associate, where they developed the MWA Waterfront Platform and facilitated press events. In 2014, they became Campaign Director, NY-NJ Harbor Coalition, leading a multi-member environmental coalition. In 2015, they worked as a Graduate Student Intern at the Center for American Progress, contributing to various research projects. Since 2016, Rasheed has held multiple positions at the Center for American Progress, including Policy Analyst, Senior Policy Analyst, Associate Director of Research, Director of Early Childhood Policy, and currently, Senior Director of Early Childhood Policy.

Rasheed Malik's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Public Affairs from Baruch College, which they completed from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2003, they attended New York University, where they focused on Comparative Literature. In 2014, Rasheed pursued a Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) at the University of Michigan, completing their degree in 2016.
