Dorian Block is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in editorial roles. Currently serving as Senior Editor at the Center for an Urban Future since June 2023, Dorian previously held positions at Vital Strategies as Senior Writer/Editor from September 2018 to June 2023, and at Columbia University in the City of New York as Project Director/Senior Staff Associate from July 2014 to September 2018, directing the Exceeding Expectations project. Dorian's earlier career includes roles at The New York Academy of Medicine as Project Manager for Age-friendly NYC, at NY Daily News as Staff Writer where notable achievements included winning the 2010 Public Service Award from the Society of the Silurians, and as a Correspondent at The Boston Globe, contributing to in-depth features and supporting freelance journalists. Dorian began the career as a Staff Writer at The Eagle-Tribune, winning first place for religion writing from the New England Press Association in 2005. Dorian earned a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University.
