Emily Kelly is an experienced research assistant specializing in marine biology, with notable contributions to various organizations focused on oceanic research and conservation. Currently, as a research assistant in the Humpback Whale Studies Program at the Center for Coastal Studies since January 2020, Emily has previously served as an observer intern for the Right Whale Ecology Program and contributed to the study of bottlenose dolphins in Western Australia with the Shark Bay Dolphin Research Alliance. Earlier roles included research assistance at the Marine Biological Laboratory, management of sea turtle sighting data with Oceans Forward, and beach surveys for sea turtle nesting at Loggerhead Marinelife Center. Additional experience encompasses marine mammal research at the New England Aquarium and estuarine research at Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Emily holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is currently pursuing further education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
