Dhanaraj Thakur has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Dhanaraj started their career as a Planning and Research Officer at Jamaica Social Investment Fund in 2003 and worked there until 2005. Dhanaraj then joined the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2010, followed by a position as a Junior Research Fellow at The University of the West Indies, Mona in the same year. In 2011, they became a Lecturer at The University of the West Indies, Mona and later served as an Assistant Professor at Tennessee State University starting in 2014. In 2015, they joined the World Wide Web Foundation as a Research Manager. Dhanaraj then progressed to the role of Senior Research Manager in 2017 and later became a Research Director in 2018. Currently, they are working as a Research Director at the Center for Democracy & Technology since 2020.
Dhanaraj Thakur has a diverse education history. Dhanaraj completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Additionally, they hold a Master of Science (MSc) in Development Studies from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Prior to these degrees, Dhanaraj Thakur obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in International Relations from The University of the West Indies, Mona. Lastly, they hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Studies from the University of Technology, Jamaica.
