Valerie Greenhagen

Regional Director, Central Region at Center for Employment Opportunities

Valerie Greenhagen is the current Regional Director for the Central Region at the CENTER FOR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES INC. Prior to this, they were the Grant Program Administrator for Denver's Office of Economic Development from July 2016 to May 2017. In this role, Valerie was responsible for providing professional operational, planning, analytical, and administrative activities specific to the Retail Sector Initiative Grant obtained through The Walmart Foundation and Chicago/Cook Partnership. This included administering and overseeing specific program goals, objectives, activities, functions, and performance of the grant, including career pathway research and development, providing technical expertise to workforce system partners, employers, and job seekers, and working with employer partners to identify and analyze workforce needs, market trends, and coordination of infrastructure development, such as integration of training and advancement opportunities. Valerie was also responsible for providing supportive and interpretive information to OED-WFS management, workforce development board, and stakeholders.

Prior to their role at Denver's Office of Economic Development, Valerie interned as a Data Analysis Graduate Student at the Denver County Crime Prevention and Control Commission from July 2015 to August 2015.

Valerie Greenhagen has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Northeastern University.

They work with Olu Martins - Regional Program Director, Midwest, Bari Samad - Director of Communications, and Panagiota Mahendru - Chief Financial Officer. Valerie Greenhagen reports to Sam Schaeffer, CEO.
