Mushfiq Ahmed is an experienced ecologist with a diverse background in environmental assessments and project management. Currently serving as an Ecologist at the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) since January 2009, Mushfiq has been involved in Strategic Environmental Assessment, Feasibility Assessment, and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, among other activities. Additionally, Mushfiq holds the voluntary position of Director at the Bangladesh Environment and Development Society, emphasizing project management and team coordination. Notable projects led by Mushfiq include the development of a web-based wildlife crime database and a study for mapping potential greenbelt zones in coastal Bangladesh. Mushfiq's previous roles include serving as a Principal Investigator for a World Bank-funded project focused on wildlife protection and research involvement at Jahangirnagar University. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Wildlife Ecology, Management, and Conservation Biology, and an Honors degree in Biological Sciences from Jahangirnagar University.

The Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) is a center of excellence situated in Dhaka, the Capital City of Bangladesh which is located in South Asia. The working domain of CEGIS span over Resource Management Planning (Natural and Intellectual), System Development, Capacity Building and Research activities. A Public Trust and center of excellence established by the Government of Bangladesh under the Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR); A "Not-for-Profit" organization guided by a Board of Trustees headed by the Secretary of the MoWR; An entity strengthened with an organized pool of experts and resources to serve humanity by excelling in the state-of-the-art technology in resource management planning, system development, study and research and capacity building; An organization aimed at achieving green environment, blue water and balanced development for better well-being of the nation.
