Tanvir Ahmed Rifat is a Research Associate at the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) since October 2015, where responsibilities include working in multidisciplinary teams, developing research methodologies, facilitating stakeholder consultations, and conducting fieldwork using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Tanvir Ahmed Rifat has expertise in data analysis utilizing SPSS and GIS spatial analysis, along with report writing on various social and cultural issues and application of the Sustainable Livelihood Approach. Prior to this role, Tanvir Ahmed Rifat served as a Research Assistant at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies from November 2014 to October 2015, contributing to socio-economic analysis and study design. Educational qualifications include a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Dhaka, along with foundational education in science.

The Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS) is a center of excellence situated in Dhaka, the Capital City of Bangladesh which is located in South Asia.
