Marissa Cantu

Marissa Cantu has a diverse work experience spanning from 2009 to the present. Marissa'scurrent role is as the Director of Community Relations at the Center for Family Services, a position they have held since July 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Community Relations Manager for a year and as the Volunteer & Internal Communications Specialist for almost a year. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA Community Engagement Associate at the Center for Family Services, where they focused on volunteer recruitment and program development. Marissa also has experience as a Circulation Assistant at the Washington University in St. Louis Art and Architecture Library and as an intern at Lydia's House, where they supported women's advocates. Additionally, they gained international experience as a Social Work Intern at the Rescue Dada Centre in Kenya. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Summer Intern in the Annuities Department at American National Insurance and as an Annika Rodriguez Scholars Program Intern at the Washington University in St. Louis Campus Life Office.

Marissa Cantu earned a Bachelor's Degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies as well as African and African-American Studies from Washington University in St. Louis from 2010 to 2014. Marissa also participated in the Padua Language and Liberal Arts Program at Boston University in Spring 2013 and the Kenya Semester Program at St. Lawrence University in Fall 2012.
