Rebecca Berger

Rebecca Berger has been working in the field of accessibility resources and services for over 10 years. Rebecca started their career as a secretary at Center For Family Services, where they implemented transfer of all records to electronic files and new accessibility software (AIM) for student files and case management. Rebecca also analyzed medical and psychological documentation for accuracy and validity to determine functional limitations and eligibility for services.

In April 2019, Rebecca became the Director at High Point University's Office of Accessibility Resources and Services. In this role, they directly supervised staff and office operations to ensure direct services, case management, and consultation with students, faculty, & staff. Rebecca also designed and maintained the department website to ensure accuracy, user-friendliness, and compliance with the ADAAA and Section 504 and 508 regulations. Rebecca was also responsible for managing the department budget effectively and efficiently with established practices to help improve overall financial performance.

In addition to their managerial responsibilities, Rebecca also provided consultation services to faculty, students, families, and represented the Office through participation in various meetings, committees, and councils. Rebecca ensured equal access through the provision of accommodations, development and enforcement of institutional policies and departmental best practices, for approximately 1200 students with disabilities. Rebecca also developed annual assessment plans and monthly and yearly reports.

Rebecca Berger has a Master of Science from West Virginia University in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling/Counselor. Rebecca also has a Bachelor of Science from Fairmont State University in Psychology. Rebecca is certified as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor from Mental Health First Aid USA and as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor from CRCC (Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification).
