Sandra C. is a dedicated mental health professional with extensive experience in educational and community settings. Currently serving as a Mental Health Clinician and Student Assistance Program Supervisor at the Center for Human Services since October 2017, Sandra oversees Student Assistance Specialists and manages program development, reporting, and evaluations. Prior to this role, Sandra gained experience as a School Counselor Intern at Modesto City Schools and held positions including Graduation Coach and Prevention Specialist at CHS, where facilitation of youth programs for prevention and early intervention in Stanislaus County was a key responsibility. Earlier in the career, Sandra worked as an Outreach Leader for Girl Scouts Heart of Central California, leading programs in underprivileged areas. Sandra holds a Master of Arts in Counselor Education from California State University, Stanislaus, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Political Science from the same institution.

Center for Human Services opened in 1970 as Head Rest, a drop-in center for youth who needed support. Now, with over 250 paid staff, at least 100 volunteers, and operating budget of 12 million dollars, CHS serves over 20,000 clients a year through programs in the areas of shelter, juvenile justice services, mental health counseling, school-based services, family resource centers, and substance abuse prevention and treatment. Our services continue to support the youth and families of Stanislaus County. CHS has a long history here, and we do what we can in response to the needs of our community.
