Lucas Goren has held various roles in the non-profit and research sector. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager, Health Literacy for CISCRP. From 2019 to 2021, they were the Media and Events Coordinator for Two Ten Footwear Foundation, where they created and managed a data dashboard to track client relief applications during the COVID-19 pandemic. From 2016 to 2019, they were the Project Manager for the Center for Policing Equity, where they wrote, edited, and conducted research for academic publications and policy reports. From 2013 to 2016, they were the Editor in Chief for Writ Large, where they conceived of, founded, sourced funding for, and launched UMass Boston's sole nonfiction literary magazine. In 2014, they were a Literature Reviewer for the Harvard Kennedy School, where they conducted literature reviews on the effects of childhood poverty and compiled a large body of literature for an ongoing urban poverty research initiative.

Lucas Goren received a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and English with a concentration in Professional Writing from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2016. Lucas graduated after studying there from 2013 to 2016.
