Upasana Khatri

Upasana Khatri is a Senior Attorney at the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL), specializing in legal strategies for climate accountability and justice since January 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a Staff Attorney at The Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights, where advocacy focused on the needs of separated and unaccompanied children, and at EarthRights International, where work involved human rights documentation and support for Indigenous rights. Upasana began a legal career with roles at the American University Washington College of Law, Richard Spoor Inc. Attorneys, and other organizations, contributing to various projects on human rights, environmental justice, and immigration law. Educational background includes a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Davidson College.
