Amanda Berman

Deputy Director, Regional Programs at Center for Justice Innovation

Amanda Berman has an extensive work history in the legal field. Amanda began their career at The Bronx Defenders in 2004, where they worked as a Team Leader/Attorney for nine years. In 2013, they transitioned to The Fortune Society, taking on the role of Senior Director of Court Advocacy. After two years, Amanda joined the Center for Justice Innovation in 2015, starting as a Project Director and later advancing to Deputy Director. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director, Regional Programs at the organization. Additionally, Amanda is an Adjunct Professor at Cardozo School of Law, starting in 2023.

Amanda Berman attended Brown University from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy. Amanda went on to pursue their law degree at New York University School of Law from 2001 to 2004, earning a Doctor of Law - JD.
