Gretel Deruiter

Gretel DeRuiter is an experienced educator with a strong background in English and Latin instruction across various educational institutions. From September 2000 to June 2015, Gretel served as an English teacher at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, where responsibilities included teaching middle school English and upper-school Latin courses, as well as acting as a faculty advisor for 8th-grade girls. Gretel also contributed to adult education through week-long literature courses at Chautauqua Institution from 2007 to 2013. Additional roles include Camp Director at Creative Fusion Craft Studio, English and Latin teacher at Germantown Friends School, and staff writer at the University of Pennsylvania. Gretel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from Swarthmore College and furthered education at the University of Pennsylvania and The University of Texas at Austin.
