Christie Peale has extensive experience in the affordable housing industry. Christie currently holds the position of CEO/Executive Director at the Center for New York City Neighborhoods since February 2012. In this role, Christie has played a crucial role in expanding the organization's services for homeowners and creating foreclosure prevention services statewide. Prior to this, they worked at the New York State Housing Finance Agency/State of New York Mortgage Agency as a Senior Program Manager from May 2007 to August 2008. During their time there, they underwrote and closed millions of dollars in mortgages and bonds for affordable housing projects. From June 2004 to May 2007, Christie served as the Director of Real Estate Development at the Community League of the Heights. Christie oversaw multiple real estate development projects, including affordable housing and community facilities. Before that, they worked at the Ridgewood Bushwick Senior Citizen Council, Housing Department as an Assistant Director for Contracts and Special Projects from October 2002 to April 2004. In this role, they managed contracts with city and state agencies and also worked on special projects.
Christie Peale pursued their education at Harvard University from 1989 to 1993, where they earned their Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Following this, they attended Hunter College School of Social Work from 2000 to 2002, earning their Master's degree in Social Work with a specialization in Community Organizing and Planning.
