Dave Dauer has a diverse background in public safety, accreditation, and event coordination. Dave founded and administers the Michigan-Ohio-Indiana-Kentucky Center for Public Safety Excellence Consortium and has guided numerous teams in on-site visits for accreditation. Dave also volunteers as a peer mentor for Fire and EMS Departments. In addition, Dave has experience in television event coordination, serving as the Mayor's Assistant in Toledo, and holding various positions in the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department including Chief Financial Officer and Supervisor of the Fire Prevention Bureau. Dave also has experience in real estate, owning Great Lakes Appraisal Company, Inc and GL Real Estate Data Company.

Center for Public Safety Excellence
CPSE is the not-for-profit organization that accredits fire/rescue departments (Commission on Fire Accreditation International), provides professional designations for fire/rescue officers (Commission on Professional Credentialing) and provides technical and facilitation services for fire departments to help them develop strategic plans and analyze local community risks and hazards (Technical Advisor Program). Today, there are over 200 Accredited Agencies, representing both municipal fire departments and Department of Defense fire agencies and almost 2,100 fire officers who have achieved professional designations as Chief Fire Officer, Chief Training Officer, Chief EMS Officer, Fire Marshal and Fire Officer.
