Cristal Powell has a diverse work experience spanning over 12 years. Cristal began their career as a Research/Database Intern at John Hancock Life Insurance Company (U.S.A.) in 2010. In 2012, they transitioned to The Computer Merchant, where they served as a Technical Recruiter and later as an Account Delivery Manager. At Moreland Enterprises, they worked as a Consultant/Project Coordinator from 2007 to 2012. From 2016 to 2019, they worked at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business as a Senior Project Manager and later as an Assistant Director of Project Management. Cristal'smost recent roles were at the Center for Research in Security Prices, LLC (CRSP), where they served as an Associate Director of Project Management for CRSP Indexes from 2020 to 2021, and currently as the Director of Product Operations and Project Management, focusing on supporting CRSP Indexes as a commercial product and aligning C Suite business objectives with daily operations.

Cristal Powell completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Management & Organization and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Communication Studies from The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business in 2011. In 2013, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Project Management from Northeastern University, which they completed in 2015.

In 2009, Cristal participated in an Undergraduate Exchange Program at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy. Additionally, in 2022, they attended the Stockholm School of Economics for an MBA Exchange Program, focusing on Innovation in the Swedish Context.

Most recently, Cristal is pursuing their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in the Evening & Weekend program at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Cristal'sfield of study includes Strategic Management, Behavioral Studies, Entrepreneurship, Economics, and Finance.

In terms of certifications, Cristal obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in May 2017. Cristal also holds the Certified Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance, which they obtained in September 2016.
