Charlotte brings over 23-years of progressive experience and accomplishments in special education as a teacher and administrator, and maintains proven leadership abilities to create and monitor policies and practices that promote a successful learning environment. To foster a school culture that encourages continuous improvements for school administrators, teachers, and students, and develop an environment that supports open communication with colleagues, families, and the greater community.
Her passion for supporting children with special needs, and their families, came to fruition when she spent time as an intern at Spectrum Services (then called The Children’s Annex) in the fall of 1998 to fulfill an undergraduate course requirement.
She graduated from SUNY New Paltz in January 1999 with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and a concentration in psychology. Immediately following graduation she began working in the field. Her experience over the years has included working in both private and public sectors in urban, suburban, and rural settings. She has worked in high-need, low-resource districts, and affluent districts alike. Over the years she has worked in a variety of capacities. Most recently she served as a Director of Students Services. She is knowledgeable of NYS Part 200 Education regulations, and well versed in State reporting and compliance requirements.
Charlotte earned an M.S. in Students with Disabilities from Mount St. Mary College, and an M.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration from the College of Saint Rose.
Charlotte believes that “everything happens for a reason,” and is excited to return to the place that sparked her passion for working in special education, bringing a level of energy, competence, and professionalism. She is honored to serve as the Program Director for Spectrum Services, and exemplifies the Center’s core values of excellence, innovation, respect, collaboration, and integrity.
