Jamey Wolff

Founder Emeritus & Project Specialist at Center for Spectrum Services

In 1976, Jamey co-founded Center for Spectrum Services with Susan Buckler. Originally named The Children’s Annex, the program started with three students in the basement of a church in Woodstock, New York. Under Jamey’s leadership as Program Director, Spectrum Services has grown to serve over 275 individuals yearly in day schools in Kingston and Ellenville. It has developed vital, community-based programs for toddlers and preschoolers, and through the Spectrum Services Outreach Program, provides diagnostic evaluations, counseling, and program consultations. Spectrum Services offers conferences and training to professionals and paraprofessionals in best practices, and instruction and guidance for people of all ages with a known or suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Jamey received her MA at New York University and an advanced degree as School District Administrator from SUNY New Paltz. She currently serves as an appointed member of the Special Education Advisory Panel to the New York State Commissioner of Education. Jamey produced and directed The Asperger’s Difference: A film for and about young people with Asperger Syndrome and served on the National Advisory Board of Autism Training Solutions.

Some of the honors and recognition that Jamey is most proud of include the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce coveted Heart of Ulster County Award, The National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) nomination as a School of Excellence, and Distinguished Services Award from Speech and Hearing Association of the Hudson Valley.

Jamey is grateful to the thousands of families who, over the years, have given Spectrum Services the privilege of working with their complicated, beautiful children. Jamey recognizes, with heartfelt appreciation, the dedicated and talented staff who have contributed their expertise and love to making Spectrum Services a model program for research-based educational and clinical practices for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
