Travis Sharp

Travis Sharp has a diverse work experience in the fields of defense budget studies, military policy, and international security. Travis currently serves as a Fellow and Director of Defense Budget Studies at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA) since July 2021. Prior to this role, they held the position of Research Fellow and Director of Defense Budget Studies at CSBA from September 2018 to July 2021. Travis also has a background in the military, having served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy Reserve since 2013. In addition, they have been a Pre Doctoral Fellow at The George Washington University's Institute for Security and Conflict Studies from August 2018 to June 2019. Travis has been a Non-Resident Fellow at the Modern War Institute at West Point from June 2017 to July 2018. Travis has also worked as the Director of Strategic Education Initiative at Princeton University's Center for International Security Studies from 2014 to 2016. Travis has previous experience as a Rosenthal Fellow at the Pentagon's Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy in 2013, as well as an Associate Fellow at the Center for a New American Security from 2010 to 2012. Early in their career, they served as the Communications Director and Military Policy Analyst at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation from 2006 to 2009.
