David Nutting

David Nutting has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. David currently works at the Center for Tech and Civic Life as a Political Geography Manager, a role they started in July 2022. Prior to this, they held positions within the organization as a Senior Civic Data Research Associate from September 2020 to July 2022, a Civic Data Research Associate from October 2019 to September 2020, and a Civic Data Research Fellow from August 2018 to October 2019.

Before joining the Center for Tech and Civic Life, David was a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Philosophy at Western Michigan University from June 2016 to May 2017. In this role, they facilitated and planned weekly discussion sections, provided individual attention through increased office hours, and developed an inclusive pedagogy to accommodate multiple learning styles.

David's work experience also includes being the Multicultural Student Council Coordinator at Notre Dame Mission Volunteers-AmeriCorps from September 2015 to August 2016. Additionally, they served as a GIS Intern at Volusia County Mosquito Control from July 2014 to February 2015, where they digitized mosquito habitats and conducted data analysis for long-term planning efforts.

David's earliest work experience was as a Medical Research Assistant at General & Vascular Surgery Specialists from May 2011 to August 2013. In this role, they compiled data on surgical procedures and assisted in the statistical analysis of patient outcomes.

David Nutting attended Stetson University from 2011 to 2015. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy. The field of study for their BS degree was Environmental Science, while Philosophy was their field of study for their BA degree.
