Dr. Brittny Herring-DeVore has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Dr. Brittny currently serves as the Director of Family Strengthening and Community Engagement at the Center for Urban Families since November 2021. Earlier in 2021, they were the Director of Homesharing at the St. Ambrose Housing Aid Center, Inc. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as a Program Supervisor at Pressley Ridge. Prior to that, they held the position of Counseling Supervisor at the Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership from 2016 to 2020. Dr. Brittny also served as a Family Services Coordinator at the Housing Authority of Baltimore City in 2015. Their earlier roles include Senior Case Manager at Catholic Charities (2013-2015), Clinic Assistant at Catholic Charities Mental Health Clinic (2008-2013), and Teaching Assistant at Westbury Head Start (2004-2008).
Dr. Brittny Herring-DeVore has a strong education background in the human and social services field. Dr. Brittny obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Human and Social Services from Walden University in 2019. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Human Services, General from Walden University in 2015. In 2012, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Human Services Management from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Herring-DeVore also holds an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix, which they completed in 2009.
Their educational journey began with their high school diploma from Westbury High School in 2002.
In addition to their degrees, Dr. Herring-DeVore has also obtained several certifications. Dr. Brittny became certified in Mental Health First Aid through the National Council for Behavioral Health in February 2017. In November 2016, they acquired the certification of Certified Specialist of Occupancy - Housing Choice Voucher (CSO-HCV) from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO).
