Marie Smoker has extensive experience in administration and fundraising, currently serving as the Director of Fundraising at the Center of Hope Foundation since March 1999. In addition to this role, Marie provides support as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Arc Services, focusing on communicating the agency's needs and services to the community and political figures. With a commitment to the agency's mission, Marie develops innovative fundraising techniques and raises awareness for the organization. The Center of Hope Foundation provides day habilitation programs, vocational skills training, employment placement, and in-home support for over 500 adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). The Center has been a chapter of the National organization The Arc since 1956. Since 1986, the Center has created for profit and programmatic businesses to further train individuals for job placement in the community, as well as provide additional income to support non funded programs, such as sports & recreation, emergency relief, a food pantry, and holiday giving program. Vacation fun clubs and summer camps are available for children with disabilities as well, creating an inclusive experience. Our Mission is to provide people with disabilities and their families from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds with the resources, services and opportunities to be contributing members of their communities and to achieve the most fulfilling and meaningful lives possible.
