Lynda Brooks

Lynda Brooks, CPA, is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in various sectors, including real estate investment, public policy, military, and nonprofit organizations. As the Principal and Founder of Freedom Capital Investments since April 2019, Lynda leads a real estate investment firm specializing in multifamily assets. Concurrently, Lynda serves as Chief Financial Officer at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities since March 2021, where Lynda has also held interim CFO and Controller roles. Lynda's background includes managing financial advisory services at Grant Thornton LLP, overseeing finance operations in nonprofit organizations, and providing comprehensive financial management to government entities. Lynda's education encompasses an MBA in Finance/Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland, a Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary, and a BBA in Public Accountancy from Baruch College.
