Jason is Executive Vice President, Regulatory Services and Government Affairs of CenterPoint Energy. In this role, he oversees the following functions: Rates and Regulatory Portfolio Management; Regulatory Relations and Policy; Regulatory Legal; and State and Federal Government Affairs.
Jason has led teams responsible for representing our utility businesses in proceedings before state and federal agencies and any related appeals in the courts, prosecuting rate changes for the company’s utilities, developing and implementing regulatory strategies to achieve the company’s earnings and growth targets, and spearheading state and federal legislative initiatives to support the enterprise goals and objectives.
He joined CenterPoint Energy in 2009, after representing the company as outside regulatory counsel for nearly a decade. Before that, Jason was a managing partner at energy law firm RyanGlover LLP and a global projects attorney at Baker Botts LLP.
Jason regularly serves as the company’s testifying witness on utility matters before legislative committees. He currently serves on the boards of the Lone Star Flight Museum and the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Jason was appointed to the Texas Diabetes Council by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. He also represents CenterPoint Energy as a member of Executive Legal Committee of the American Gas Association and the Board of the Association of Electric Companies of Texas.
Jason earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his law degree with honors from the University of Texas School of Law. Jason served as an Information Dominance Warfare Officer in the United States Navy from 2005 to 2015.
