David Bott is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in health services research, currently serving as the Director of the Division of Data, Research & Analytic Methods at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services since November 2004. In this role, David directs and designs research related to Medicare fee-for-service programs and evaluates innovative care models for patients with complex chronic conditions. Additionally, David serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Medicare & Medicaid Research Review, a peer-reviewed journal. Prior to his current position, David held research and teaching roles at Dartmouth College, where significant work was done on health care utilization patterns among Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. David's early academic background includes a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and degrees in Science and Technology Studies and Biology from Virginia Tech.
