Wendy Alexander is an experienced health economist and academic with over two decades of expertise in health insurance and policy analysis. Currently serving as the Division Director/Deputy Director at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services since July 2002, Wendy has held various key positions including Technical Director and Senior Policy Advisor within the agency. Prior to this, Wendy was the Associate Commissioner for Life and Health Insurance at the Maryland Insurance Administration and began a career in health policy analysis as a Supervisor in the Managed Care Section at the Missouri Department of Insurance. In academia, Wendy contributed as an Adjunct Professor at the Community College of Baltimore County, teaching introductory economics courses. Wendy holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Washington, where an undergraduate degree in the same field was also earned.
