With more than 30 years of investment banking and private equity experience, David Cohen is a trusted advisor to Fortune 100 companies and leading private equity firms. Selected notable transactions in which Mr. Cohen has been a senior advisor include 21st Century Fox’s $85 billion sale to The Walt Disney Company and related separation of new Fox, Fortive’s separation of Vontier, Johnson Controls’ $16.5 billion merger with Tyco, Lorillard’s $27 billion sale to Reynolds American, Alcan's takeover defense from Alcoa and its ultimate $38 billion sale to Rio Tinto, News Corporation's separation of its publishing business from its entertainment operations, Clearwire's $14 billion sale to Sprint, General Electric's $3.8 billion sale of GE Advanced Materials to Apollo Management, Cendant's $20 billion reorganization plan, United Technologies’ $2 billion acquisition of Chubb plc, and Bain Capital’s $3 billion LBO of Sensata.

Prior to Centerview, Mr. Cohen spent more than 13 years at JP Morgan Chase & Co where his last position was serving as a Partner in JP Morgan Chase’s private equity group – One Equity Partners. Prior to OEP, Mr. Cohen held the positions of Co-Head of JP Morgan’s North American M&A Group and Global Head of the Industrials Group. Before joining JPMorgan, Mr. Cohen was Co-Head of the M&A Group of S.G. Warburg Inc., worked for Wasserstein Perella & Co. Inc. in both M&A and High Yield Financing, and for Bain & Company as a management consultant.

Mr. Cohen is currently a member of the Board of Overseers of Weill Cornell Medical College and the Board of Governors of Baltusrol Golf Club. He also is a former member of Duke University's Trinity College Board of Visitors and has served on the boards of NCO Group, Inc. and X-Rite Incorporated as well as the Board of the First Tee Metropolitan New York. He earned a M.B.A. with Distinction from the Wharton School of Business and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Duke University with an A.B. in Economics.
