James Hartop

James Hartop joined Centerview Partners in 2015 and has over 20 years of experience across global M&A, equity and debt capital markets.

His transaction experience spans the globe and different industries, with involvement in a number of landmark transactions including Anglo American’s response to an unsolicited merger proposal from Xstrata; the US$8 billion demerger of Mondi; the Thomson Corporation’s c.US$17 billion acquisition of Reuters; AB Inbev’s c.US$104 billion acquisition of SAB Miller and the proposed c.US$23 billion acquisition of Sky plc by 21st Century Fox.

James was previously at UBS where he held a variety of roles including Head of Investment Banking for Europe, Middle East and Asia.

James holds BA and MA degrees from Trinity College, Oxford University.
