Adam Johnson

Adam Johnson has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Adam is currently working as the Director of Legal at Centiva Capital since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as Counsel at Scale LLP from May 2021 to January 2022, where they advised on investment vehicles and transactions in public and private equity markets, worked with private and institutional investors, and structured ESG products.

From May 2007 to October 2020, Adam served as the Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Cohen & Steers, Inc., where they advised general counsel and management as a senior leader of the legal department. Adam partnered on the structure, marketing, and governance of $30 billion in investment products and services and handled governance and regulation of companies in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

Prior to that, Adam was the Vice President and Counsel at AllianceBernstein L.P. from October 2004 to May 2007. In this role, they advised senior attorneys, heads of business units, fund boards, and investment professionals. Adam also acted as legal counsel to the Tokyo office and interim regional counsel for Asia, supporting a $25 billion institutional and retail fund complex distributed worldwide.

Adam began their career as a Corporate Finance Associate at Clifford Chance US LLP from 2001 to 2004. Adam represented underwriters in public and private securities offerings, negotiated and drafted documents, obtained regulatory approvals, and provided general corporate advice.

Before that, Adam worked as a Legal Assistant at Coudert Brothers/Beijing from June 1997 to July 1998. Here, they worked on equity offerings by Chinese companies to foreign investors, drafted and translated documents in English and Chinese, and conducted legal and market research.

Adam Johnson earned their Bachelor's degree in Chinese and Honors Humanities from Brigham Young University, where they studied from 1991 to 1997. Following this, they pursued their Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, graduating in 2001.
