Matthias Berg

Matthias Berg is a Senior Data Scientist at CENTOGENE since September 2020, specializing in the analysis of targeted and untargeted metabolomics experiments on iPSC cellular disease models, with a focus on drug discovery for Gaucher disease and target identification for Niemann-Pick type C disease in collaboration with Evotec and InSilico Medicine. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral position at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin from 2017 to 2019 and a doctoral program in Theoretical Chemistry at Freie Universität Berlin from 2012 to 2017, where research centered on weak interactions in fluorine-containing compounds. Matthias Berg also completed community service at Marianne Cohn Schule, supporting students and teachers at a special needs education center. Educational qualifications include a Dr. rer. nat in Theoretical Chemistry, as well as M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin.
