He also served as the Senior Vice President for Operations of the Del Monte Philippines for nine years. He held the position of Senior Group Manager of Lapanday Agricultural Development Corporation for seven years. He graduated from Ateneo de Manila University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. He obtained his Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science and Management from the University of California in 1985.
