Mohamed Abou Moussa is the First Sub Governor of Banking Supervision Unit at the Central Bank of Egypt. Mohamed has over 15 years of experience in the banking and finance industry.
Mohamed started their career at the Arab Banking Corporation in January 2004 as Manager of the Treasury Department. Mohamed then moved to the Central Bank of Egypt in November 2004, where they worked as a Consultant and Basel Unit Head in the Banking Supervision Sector.
In May 2015, Mohamed was appointed as First Sub Governor of Banking Supervision Unit. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the banking sector and ensuring that banks are compliant with regulations.
Abou Moussa graduated from the Randolph Macon Academy in Virginia, USA before completing their Bachelor of Arts at the American University in Cairo. Mohamed then went on to complete their MBA in International Finance at the Maastricht School of Management.
