Sherif Ashour is the Sub Governor of Basel Sector, Banking Supervision at Central Bank of Egypt. Sherif has over 9 years of experience working in international organizations and businesses.
Sherif started their career as an account manager at iFOREX, a foreign exchange trading company. Sherif then worked as a team lead at Microsoft Key Activation Center before moving on to become a Medicaid Enrollment Broker. In 2015, they joined The Consulate General of Egypt as an Associate in their Economic & Commercial Office. Two years later, they transitioned to BCIU where they worked as a Program Coordinator. In this role, Sherif organized investor roundtables and executed marketing campaigns to secure underwriting and business participants for briefings featuring government leaders from around the world.
In 2021, Sherif was appointed as Sub Governor of Basel Sector, Banking Supervision at Central Bank of Egypt. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the banking system and ensuring its stability.
Sherif Ashour has a Bachelor of Science in Political Economy from the New York Institute of Technology, a Bachelor's degree in Counter-terrorism & Homeland Security from Reichman University (IDC Herzliya), and a Baccalauréat Général in Série Économique et Sociale (ES) from Lycée Français De Jérusalem.
