Vidir Kristofersson

Vidir Kristofersson has extensive work experience in the field of security and IT. Vidir is currently serving as the Chief Security Officer at the Central Bank of Iceland since November 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Lecturer at Bifröst University starting from March 2023. From 2016 to 2023, they held the position of Chief Security Officer at Arion banki. Before that, they worked at SimCorp as a Security Principal and Lead Infrastructure & Security Architect in the Group Legal & Compliance and Group IT departments, respectively. Vidir also served as a Senior Security Consultant at Secunia and a Lead Network and Security Consultant at Sensa ehf. From 2007 to 2012, they worked at SimCorp as the Team Lead for the Network & Security Team and Lead Network & Security Architect. Vidir started their career as a Sr. IT Consultant at Nyherji and Lina.Net hf., and later served as a Systems & Network Manager at Íslandsbanki.

Vidir Kristofersson completed their Master's Degree in Computer and Information Security from the University of Liverpool from 2012 to 2016. Vidir also holds several certifications, including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) obtained in February 2016 and the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) obtained in September 2017.
