Karen O'Leary has extensive work experience in various organizations. Karen started their career as a Marketing Manager at William Fry Solicitors from 1999 to 2002. Following this, they joined the Central Bank of Ireland as Deputy Head of Division from 2002 to 2010. Karen then had a role as Director of Public Awareness & Financial Education at the National Consumer Agency (on secondment) from 2010 to 2013. Karen continued their work with the National Consumer Agency as Chief Executive from 2013 to 2014. In 2014, they became a Commissioner at the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission until 2017. From 2013 to 2017, they also served as a Non-Executive Board Member at the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB). In 2017, Karen O'Leary took on the role of Head of Organisation Development at the Central Bank of Ireland, and in 2020, they became the Head of Payments and Securities Settlements. Additionally, since 2017, they have been a Non-Executive Board Member at North Wall CDP.
