Shane Kirwan

Shane Kirwan currently serves as the Acting Head of Function for Wholesale Markets in the Securities and Markets Directorate at the Central Bank of Ireland, where a strategy for Wholesale Market Conduct Authorisation assessments has been developed, focusing on a pragmatic, risk-based approach. Previously, Shane led a team in Trade Surveillance and Markets Integrity, investigating market misconduct and implementing market abuse strategies. Earlier experience includes a role as Treasury Manager at Aon Hewitt Investment Management Inc and as a Senior Equity Derivatives Risk Analyst at TD, overseeing VaR analysis and P&L processes. Shane began the career as a graduate at Bank of Ireland Global Markets after earning a BA in Economics from University College Dublin and furthered education at Harvard Law School.
