Hilary Maina

Deputy Head Of Budgetary Control at Central Bank of Kenya

Hilary Maina has extensive experience in finance and accounting. Hilary began their career as an Assistant Accountant at Magadi Soda Co Ltd in 2003 before moving on to Twiga Chemicals Ltd as an Assistant Credit Controller later that year. In 2004, they joined Metro Petroleum Ltd as a Credit Controller and then transitioned to Jade Petroleum Ltd in 2007 as a Management Accountant. Hilary held this position until 2012. In 2014, they joined the Central Bank of Kenya as the Deputy Head of Budgetary Control. Later that year, they returned to Jade Petroleum Ltd as the Chief Accountant, a position they held until 2020.

From 1999 to 2001, they attended Strathmore University, where they earned a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) degree in Accounting.

In the period between 2004 and 2006, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Accounting at the United States International University - Africa.

Finally, from 2009 to 2011, Hilary Maina attended the University of Nairobi, where they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Finance.
